Urk
Urk is a lively and characteristic fishing village, where you can still experience the authentic island feeling. You can still hear the Urk dialect and you can take lovely walks through old alleys ('ginkies') and streets. Urk is synonymous with fish. So enjoy delicious smoked IJsselmeer eel or other fresh fish in the cosy harbour.
Nagele
Nagele was built by the architectural group 'De Acht'. Its members included architects Gerrit Rietveld and Aldo van Eyck. Characteristic of Nagele is its spacious layout, abundant greenery and houses with flat roofs. Modern materials such as concrete and glass were mainly used.
