The Northeast Polder is the largest tulip area in the Netherlands. In spring, the 2000 hectares of tulips come into bloom and transform the landscape into a beautifully colourful scene. StEP Noordoostpolder organises an annual Tulip Festival to let you enjoy this, so come along and admire and photograph our tulips.
Both bicycle and car routes along the annually changing tulip fields are plotted and published. If you follow these routes, you are guaranteed to pass the most beautiful tulip fields. You can find the 114-kilometre car route and the 24-kilometre cycling route on the Tulip Festival website.

Many of the tulip fields are just along the main road and are owned by local farmers. You are not supposed to enter these fields. Admire the tulips in these fields from a distance. In the Tulip Experience Field in Creil and in the Tulip Species Garden, you are allowed to walk through the rows of different types, shapes and colours of tulips and take close-ups and selfies.
